I would like to thank-you for the excellent and competent care you have given me. I work as an R.N. at Sequoia Hospital... I have taken care of your patients and seen your bedside manner up close. Your patients expressed how safe they felt with you and were very pleased with their care…
When it came time for me to choose a(n) (orthopedic) surgeon, you were first to enter my mind. I have never regretted that decision. Your office is very organized and runs very efficiently...I found instructions easy to follow and understand.
I felt safe with you and appreciated the in-depth explanation you gave me about my condition. Thank you!"

"Dear Dr. Ellison,
I want to thank you for providing me with excellent medical advise regarding my
rotator cuff tear. Prior to seeing you, I was told by another orthopedist that
I needed surgery ASAP or my condition would deteriorate and surgical treatment
will be more complicated.
I was advised by you that surgical treatment was premature at this time.
Instead, you suggested physical therapy and NSAID for two months.
After 1 month of following suggestion, I regained full ROM (range of motion) in my L(eft) arm. To this
day, I am doing well. Thank you so much for your conservative approach."
Sincerely,
Donna H., R.N. (thank you letter 1 April 2007)
"Dr. Bruce Ellison,
From July – Oct 2006, I visited your Sequoia office as a referral from Workforce Medical Center/Athens Administrators and as an employee of the City of Palo Alto. (Spine) surgery had been recommended following a diagnosis of nerve damage in the investigation of tingling, pain & numbness in my left neck, shoulder, arm, and hand, and loss of some hand functionality.
At that time, you cited studies in which patients with and without surgery were in about the same condition after 5 years. Now, almost 3 years since seeing you, I have very few of the symptoms that brought me there, and I am grateful for your knowledgeable deferral of surgery which has proven unnecessary."
Sincerely,
Sharon M

“I can't believe it! After the (ACL reconstruction) surgery on my right knee, I didn't have much pain. I never used the Vicodin (pain medication) at all. I took the ibuprofen, and that was all I needed.
At two weeks, I have full motion at my knee. This is way better than after the ACL reconstruction I had on my other knee (by another orthopedic surgeon). Like I say, I couldn't believe it.”

“My knee feels great! I'm so lucky I had to doing this less invasive ACL reconstruction. Some of the other guys at the fire department have had ACL reconstructions, and there were easily out of commission for several months. One guy is still recovering after a year.
His scar is huge, and I can barely see mine. I felt like a had my normal knee back after a few months. I was ready to go back to full duty after 3 months…
Thanks for taking good care of me."
